Since this is a Muslim community and Friday is the one day in the week
when people are most likely to participate in the service at one of the mosques
in town, a certain number of people elected not to attend the workshop today.
For the same reason, the workshop schedule called for a shortened day today,
freeing participants to do other things after lunch. The reduced number of both
people and work hours translated into a smaller number of words collected
during the day. Nevertheless, the group was able to get to the halfway mark in
their quest for 10,000 words by the end of next week.
